spell speed is a chain of card effectss that resolve around each other for example: your opponenet activates an equip card you use a magic drain opponent mystical space typhoon you mystical space typhoon he has no cards to activate you win

All spell, effect monsters, and trap cards have a spell speed.

Spell speed one cards are normal spells, field spells, continuous spells, flip effects, trigger effects, continuous effects, and equip cards. This spell speed cannot be chained to anything.

Spell speed two are quickplay spells, multitrigger effects, and all trap cards except for counter traps. These cards can be chained to either spell speed 1 or 2 cards.

Spell speed three cards consist of counter traps, these cards can chain to any other spell speed, and can be activated during the damage step.
