Inbee Park happy with performance in 2012 season
South Korean Inbee Park has said that she is happy with her performance in the current season, but losing to Stacy Lewis on the Rolex Player of the Year list is regrettable.
Speaking to the LPGA Tour during her latest interview this Wednesday at Naples, Florida, where is gearing up to take part in the season-ending CME Group Titleholders 2012, Park said that she is ready to move forward with new vigour.
Park, who got into a nerve-racking competition against American Stacy Lewis on the Player of the Year award, has been performing well in the current season, but her biggest goal was to become the best player of the 2012 season.
With just one last tournament to go, Park has lost a chance to knock Lewis off the top of the list of Rolex Player of the Year, but she said that she has not lost hope and will try to do even better in the next season.
The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) titan is pretty hopeful that the good vibes associated with her performance in the recent tournaments are going to further cement her reputation in women’s golf.
Park’s performance has been nothing short of amazing in the past few months, as she has recorded twelve top-10 finishes, which includes two titles. The impressive stretch of golf propped her up and she started seeing herself as a threat to Lewis, who has already cemented her position with the help of four victories in the season.
“This is last tournament of the year. I mean, I know there is a lot going on with the awards and, you know, money list and everything,” said Park who has won a total of three LPGA titles in her professional career so far.
She went on to say that winning in Florida is her goal, but she is going to have a great time no matter what she does in the season-ending event.
“You know what, I'm just going to try to enjoy this week because I think I really deserve to enjoy this week. It's been such a great season and I'm just going to try to enjoy this last week, not to think about anything else”.
