Inbee Park reels off four birdies on front nine in Taiwan

South Korean Inbee Park made a sizzling start at the ongoing Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship 2012 as she reeled off four birdies on the front nine.
Park started her first round at the Sunrise Golf & Country Club, Yang Mei, Taoyuan, Taiwan, on Thursday, with plenty of confidence as she fully capitalised on good weather conditions.
It was not windy out there early in the morning, and players found it easy to handle the ball well on fairways and greens.
Park parred the first hole and launched her maiden birdie on the difficult par-3 second. She then parred the next two holes to keep her momentum intact.
Commentators said that since the Sunrise Golf & Country Club is one of the best courses in South Korea, which is why even the most intimidating holes prove to be favourable for players most
of the times.
Park knew that the only thing to keep on the safe side was avoiding bogeys, which she did by quickly adjusting to the course conditions.
Park is coming off a tough battle at the LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012 that saw her shoot an overall 211 to finish tied for the 15th position on the leaderboard last week. However,
the weather and course conditions are almost the same, with only a slight change in winds in Taiwan.
The South Korean star amazed the lively Taiwanese spectators after she drained two straight birdies on the 5th and 6th hole. The twin birdies helped Park ramp up pressure
on her rivals as she parred the next hole and sank yet another birdie-putt on the par-4 8th hole.
Park is being regarded as one of the favourites for the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament as she has already won two tournaments in the current season.
Other contenders who are likely to shine this week include the current world number one Yani Tseng, who is the defending champion of the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, Na Yeon Choi, Lexi
Thompson and Suzann Pettersen who won the LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012, held last week in South Korea.
Commentators said that Tseng is the main attraction this week as she is counting on home crowd advantage.
