Inbee Park set to battle rivals at CME Group Titleholders
South Korean Inbee Park is all set to take on rivals at the upcoming CME Group Titleholders, scheduled to be held from November 15-18, at Naples, Florida.
Park has done far better than most of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) contenders in the current season, having notched two victories and ten other top-10 finishes.
Recording a total of 12 top-10 finishes in the season is not the only factor that has helped the South Korean star stand out among all the other key LPGA contenders, but she has also boosted
her position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Park is currently standing at the third position, and looks set to further cement her reputation in the upcoming tournament at Florida.
Sharing her thoughts during her pre-tournament interview with the LPGA Tour on Wednesday, Park said that she is fully fit and confident to win this season-ending tournament.
She said that she is aware of the strong lineup at CME Group Titleholders, but she will try to stay calm on the course.
“Looking back this year and I've done so many things this year, I've been doing a new swing, new stroke, I mean, everything just fitted to me very well this year. I mean, I've moved a lot
on the Rolex Rankings, I've moved a lot on the money list and I've done a lot of things this year,” said Park who won her first major title at the US Women’s Open in 2008.
When asked what it feels like to see the Player of the Year award having been locked up by Stacy Lewis, Park said that she regrets missing a chance to win more events, but overall, she is
satisfied with her performance in the season.
CME Group Titleholders is going to stage a tougher battle than most of the players are expecting, with the participation of names like the current world number one Yani Tseng and American
Stacy Lewis who is currently leading the Rolex Player of the Year list.
No matter how fearsome the event’s lineup may be, Park has decided to take on rivals in a more aggressive style, as she thinks that her renewed confidence and improved swing will keep her
in motion.
Park has worked hard on her swing lately, which appears to have paid off.
