Inca Mummy?

Has anyone checked yahoo science news about the Inca mummy of a 15 year old girl who froze to death in a ritual sacrafice 500 years ago? The mummy is completely in tack. Very interesting. Check it out.

  1. That's old news, she was discovered years ago. It is a natural mummy, preserved by the freezing temperatures. There was a baby too. Unfortunately climate warming is affecting this and she may have to be taken to a museum because the conditions that preserved her are not as cold as they used to be.


  2. actually there are lots of them (Inca Mummies) the high, dry cold atmosphere of the area naturally desicates the skin (dries it out) which keeps the bacteria that typically would break down organic material from working.  You can find a lot more information on Incan mummies a the websites below

  3. It was interesting. You can literally see how they wore their clothes and the "Doncella" Spanish for maiden is a time capsule. I am glad they were able to show her finally after a few years of seclusion for research purposes.
