Incentives pay off Cincinnati Bengals attract fans upto stadium capacity for next game – NFL News
The incentives announced by the Cincinnati Bengals management to attract more people to attend their home game against the Baltimore Ravens seemed to have worked out for them as the team on Wednesday confirmed sellout of the game.
The Bengals last week spoke of their uncomfortably and frustration over attendance of their fans lesser than the Paul Brown Stadium seating facility during past couple of games with an appeal from their managers and players to their fans to back their side
by showing up at the stadium.
The giveaway of a number of incentives including free-of-cost refreshments and free ticket to season pass holders followed the appeal. The team has apparently succeeding in attracting the number of spectators to fill the stadium capacity.
"Our fans have made a tremendous response this week to our sales efforts, and we thank the entire community for its support of the Bengals," Katie Blackburn, the team's executive vice president, said. "We're pleased that the game will be on television for
everyone, and we look forward to the fans at Paul Brown Stadium giving us a great home-field advantage for a very important game against Baltimore."
As many as 41,273 people have turned up to watch the Bengals’ last game in the daring temperature of 38 degree. This prompted the team to thank all those who attended the game and also to express their disappointment over nearly 20,000 vacant seats. The
Paul Brown ground’s seating capacity is just over 65,000.
Following the sellout news, the Bengals players have expressed their excitement over the prospects of increased attendance in the next game.
"It's a great thing," defensive lineman Domata Peko said. "When everyone in 'The Jungle' gets up, standing and cheering, it's as loud as it gets. Hopefully the house is rocking this weekend."
The sellout comes as a good news for the side that has suddenly surged in hopes for a wild card chance into playoff. The wild card’s leading contestants the New York Jets lost their last game to New York Giants increasing the Bengal’s chances for the last
wild card.
According to the team management the backing of fans is an important factor in the Bengals good performance and win. It could have been another setback for them if they could not attract people upto the facilities at their home ground.
Their renewed hopes for making it to playoff this season further signifies the presence of their supports, backing their players for a possible win over the Ravens.
