So I'm planning a wedding and I need to know how much flooring I'm going to need. I've ordered 5 tables that are 60" inches round and I need to order enough flooring to accommodate that. You rent the flooring per square foot and I have no idea how much to get. Can some one please help me I'm like loosing my mind. I'm afraid to ask the company in fear that they might have me order more then I need. Thanks to any one who can help.

  1. Well, 60 inches is 5 feet round....so you have 5 tables, that is 25 feet in all. You would have to allow extra room of course for the chairs etc. and people.......hope that helps.

  2. First things first:  RELAX.  This is a very doable thing and we are going to do it.  Second:  If you don't understand anything I say send your email address to my profile and I will send you a picture to help explain it.

IMO 900 sq feet should do it.

The tables are 5 feet in diameter.  A 30 foot square of flooring (900 Sq Ft) will work out as follows.

Place one table in each corner.  Situate them 5 feet from both edges.  5 feet should be enough to get chairs in and out without causing any problems.  It isn't too much room but it should be adequate.  With those four tables placed as indicated there will be 10 feet between them on each of the sides.  That should allow enough room for people to move through comfortably, even if they are walking between occupied tables.  The diagonal measure of a 30 foot square is 42.426 feet.  Let’s call it 42 1/2 feet.  Situated as I directed there will be 7.071 feet (let’s call it 7 feet) from the corner of the floor to the center of the corner tables.  Adding 2 1/2 feet for the remainder of the table and we are out to 9 1/2 feet from the corner to the inside edge of the corner tables.  That amounts to 19 feet of the diagonal being used up by the corner tables.  As we already said, the diagonal is 42 1/2 feet so 23.5 is left in the center between the corner tables.  Placing the fifth table in the exact center of the 30 by 30 foot floor leaves 18 1/2 feet of the diagonal unused.  Halving that gives you 9 1/4 feet between the center table and any of the corner tables.

So if you order 900 Sq Ft of flooring, lay it out in a 30 by 30 foot square, put one table in the exact center and one table 5 feet from each side in each of the four corners you will have 5 feet around the outside and over 9 feet between any of the tables.

I hope that helps and don't hesitate to write if you need a picture.  Have a wonderful wedding and a great life.
