Include Me Out has the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic on her agenda after winning the Clement Hirsch
After she finished as a runner-up in the Grade 1 Vanity Handicap at the Betfair Hollywood Park, Include Me Out landed an incredible victory and proved herself with success in the Grade 1 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar on 4th August,
2012.
With rider Joseph Talamo on her back, the filly excelled on the 1 1/16 miles, and broke through the wire just in time, a neck before Star Billing, who was ridden by Rafael Bejarano. The third place was secured by the Chilean bred, Amani, with rider
Garrett Gomez aboard.
The early lead in the race was taken by Switch, followed by Great Hot and Kayce Ace in second and third. She carved quick fractions and covered the opening quarter-mile in 23.19 seconds, half mile in 46.65 seconds, and six furlongs in 1 minute and
10.63 seconds.
Switch was showing signs of weakness, and that's where Include Me Out benefited. She followed Switch and managed to claim the narrow victory. In the closing stages, Star Billing made ground, but it was Include Me Out who succeeded and won in the nick
of time.
With this victory, the charge of Ron Ellis earned herself a spot in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic at Santa Anita Park in November, 2012.
With prior experience at Santa Anita, things should be easier for the daughter of Include, out of mare Don't Trick Her.
The Jay Em Ess Stable owned runner aced the Grade 2 La Canada Stakes over 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita on 22nd January, 2012, and went on to win the Grade 1 Margarita Stakes over 1 1/8 miles on 17th March, 2012.
Ellis is definitely excited about the prospects of running her at Santa Anita in the Breeders’ Cup. Since she already won at 1 1/8 miles, the distance should not be a problem for her.
He told the media that:
“I’ve been thinking about (the Breeders' Cup) since she won at Santa Anita." Ellis remarked: "We’re really excited she’s in good form right how and she’ll have a couple months before she has to run again at Santa Anita."
With an overall record of 6-3-0 and earnings worth $683,600, more success is inevitable for the Kentucky bred runner.
