Include Me Out with a phenomenal chance of landing the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic on her favourite race track
The Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic has pulled one of the most competitive and versatile line-up of the era. The sheer depth of the field is reflected from the fact that the star filly, Include Me Out, is over shadowed even though she was successful in four out of the six starts of the 2012 campaign. The races that she won were not an easy deal, it was a pair of Grade 1 and Grade II stakes.
Being the part of the line-up that has seven Grade 1 winners out of the total eight contestants speaks volumes about her ability and potential to add her name in the list of the champions of this race.
"She gets no respect," said owner Samantha Siegel.
What sets her completely aside from the 2011 winner of the race, Royal Delta, and the last two Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winners, My Miss Aurelia and Awesome Feather, is the exposure and experience at Santa Anita. Include Me Out nearly rules the field with four career starts at Santa Anita, which led to two graded successes.
A line-up being boosted by champions and only the top-class contenders has presented itself for a second time in the last twenty-nine-year history.
The preparation for the race of the Ron Ellis trained included a four furlong trip that she timed in 49 2/5 seconds on Monday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
The connections want her to pull back her form from the third position that Include Me Out ended at in the very last outing.
"She needed the last race, and it wasn't an important race for us (to win)," Ellis said.
"How can you get a bad post in a field of eight?" she asked rhetorically. "I'm happy to be in the gate."
The confidence and conviction of the connections is truly commendable, as for them the entry and participation in the event matters way more than winning the race, but that does stand to be one of the prime objectives.
The level of competition is nothing new for the filly, she has raced and won against world-class opponents already.
