Question:

Income limit for pregnancy medicaid????

I have a household of 4 (including the baby in my belly :) ) Apparently the limit is under 185% of the poverty level, which is my case would be $3269/mth. My income fluctuates depending on how much work I get in a given week. My highest pay (including my husband's income) would put me over the limit, but my lowest pay (or even the average of the lowest and highest pay) would put me under. My question is how do they determine this? Would they take the average of the 2 or just automatically go by my highest pay??? Please, someone who is familiar with DCF and Florida Medicaid, please help?!

  1. Its hard to get anything here in NC they put you throught the ringer and want to know all your business PA is so much different

  2. I just went through this and my income fluctuates too. I live in Louisiana. They just asked me for the check stubs from a certain month, July.  Of course, I make a different amount each month but they only took the month of July into consideration.

  3. If they ask you for only the last months income bring in 3 months worth of pay stubs to show them that your income changes me and my boyfriend had to go through that when we went through them to get on medicaid and food stamps they will take the average of 3 months and go by that it might be more then what the low income level is but you have to keep going back we went 3 times once a month and kept applying and we finally got on it back in march, I live in ohio but its all government, but good luck and keep trying, My boyfriend has a job that changes week by week in hours

  4. Yep, they would take usually 3 months worth of pay stubs and average how much you two make together.

  5. What they do for me in Wisconsin is when I have a review they ask for the last 30 days of paycheck stubs and go from there. If after the review my income goes down they as me to send in more check stubs so they can make the changes if there are any.

  6. I know what you mean; sometimes my fiance works overtime and gets la few dollars extra in his weekly check and that would put us over the limit, but the weeks when he gets a regular check, we're under the income level. The DHS office I go to makes me bring in check stubs for the month and averages them out, so I get medicaid continually.

  7. Usually they will look at your income over the last 3-6 months and average it out for each month.

  8. im not sure about florida but in NC, they look at your past 2 months income which is how they determine it.

  9. They take an average over a certain number of months.

  10. Ask your caseworker if you can turn in 1-3 month's worth of paystubs and she can average it out - or if they can go by last year's gross on your taxes.
