  1. Sometimes this worked for me- put tinfoil on the tips of the antenna.

  2. You can try a booster, and make sure your antenna connections are good and clean. Is the antenna facing the correct direction.

They do make signal boosters, you place a preamp just below the antenna and the power unit in the house, then to you TV. This type has been the best for many years.

  3. There is a product called a "booster" which is extremely good in boosting the signal. Go to your local electronics store and ask them about it. They only cost a couple of dollars.

  4. Well, just keep adjusting it.

P.S. by 2009 you won't be able to get a antenna signal.

  5. An appropriate antenna, size versus distance from the stations, mounted outdoors, directed and the station, is required for proper TV reception. Indoor antennas may work well enough if you are close enough to the station and do not have anything causing interference. A good antenna and good cable is always the best method. Not all antennas are created equal, some will drastically outperform others. A signal amplifier (booster) may be helpful. But sometimes they also amplify noise and interference.

For indoor "rabbit ear" antennas it's important to note, the long straight pieces are for channels 2-13. The loop or "bow tie" if you have one is for channels 14 and up. If there is no loop or bow tie, it is best to shorten the straight pieces for channels 14 and up, fully extend them for 2-13. Adding a ball of foil on the end actually can improve performance. There's some physics involved, it increases the electrical current at the end of the thing.

In February 2009 in the USA, full power analog TV stations will shut off. You will need a digital TV tuner, either built into a modern TV set or a converter box to receive the programming. Poor reception of analog channels today will probably mean unwatchable digital TV tomorrow.
