making a list for saving fuel please tell me what modifications can you do to a car to make it more fuel efficient, I already have:

1.better driving habbits

2.increase air flow in and out, (intake & exhaust)

3.check alignment

4.check tire pressure

5.lighten the load

6.remove roof racks

7.windows closed

8.use correct oil for your car/use think synthetic oil

i wish to make a bigger list, please do inform me with ideas, even weird stuff that you have thought of when you're bored

  1. don't use AC...use the fan  


  2. avoid if possible congested areas cruisin @ 55-60  is optimal fuel efficency thats was the real reason for speed limit imosition in 1970's ( along with a way to get money ) not safety as the propaganda says

    Manual transmissios get better fuel economy

    use cruise control it helps a bit

    not using heat/Ac ( even at these bushwhacked prices u dont save enough to warrant discomfort but if its like 70 no need for Ac or heat at 60 )

    I drive a crew cab utility bed 1 ton diesel truck on 37" tires (weighs over 11,000lbs) and I have done intake, exhaust, power chip, synthetic oil and I keep the tire presure at 48psi. The truck averaged 11.8 mpg when I bought it. After I did everything to it, I now get 14.8mpg average.
