  1. Slobbermash is great for oldies - google it! Also things such as sugar beet (or speedi beet for the good doers) can encourage horses to eat. My TB goes mad for grass chaff and grass nuts with hot water poured over them (obv leave til warm) as it releases a lovely smell. Mint can tempt a fussy eater too. Good luck.

  2. adding garlic worked for ours.

  3. mints is meant to increase appetite not sure if it works

  4. When my horse goes on hungar strike I mix up some sugar beet very watery (not alot of pellets needed) and then pore some of the water onto the food and mix it up they love the sweet taste of it! You could also try her on fibre beet it works wonders and my horse loves it!

  5. Some horses get attached to others and sulk when taken away or won't eat when the other friend is gone.  If she's been used to having a pasture mate, you may try putting in another horse for company.

Not sure WHERE your owner of the loan horse is located.  You may try ground alfafa and molasses or a hot bran and barley mash.
