The demonstration doesn't show any speed up as far as I can tell. The only fair test, how fast the speed test page loaded, was about the same both before and after the optimization.

The actual speed numbers measure two different things. In the first case, his setup looked like this:

Him <-> Speed test server

This was actually measuring his internet speed. Then he did this:

Him <-> TopSpeed server <-> Speed test server

And he measured that the connection between the top speed server and the speed test server was faster than his connection. Umm, that's nice for the folks at the top speed server, but it doesn't help him one bit.

Heck, I have a slow Internet connection. Does me watching a video of him getting a fast test speed make my Internet connection any faster? Nope, it doesn't. He was basically watching the transfer in the second test while doing it in the first.
