Increase stamina?

i'm a 14 year old girl and in gym the other day, we had to run a quarter mile.

i came in 4th place with a time of 1 min 55 secons. my friend came in 1st with 1 min 36 sec. was my time good?

how do i increase my stamina? i used to do ballet, karate, soccer, swimming and other sports. i stopped this year, but now i get out of breath quickly too.

what can i do at home to improve stamina and breathing?

  1. 1:55 isnt that bad, thats a 6 minute mile... as in terms of stamina and breathing, make sure you stay hydrated, stay healthy and when you're running think of something else besides how much running sucks, set a pace for yourself and keep the same pace...works for me

    3 miles- 20 mins


  2. i run the quarter mile in track (im in 8th grade) and my best time is 1 minute 4.25 seconds.

    so actually, thats not good at all, to be honest with you.

    to increase your stamina you need to run often. do a variety of sprinting and endurance workouts.
