Increasing Status Of NIT s?

Question

According to an act passed by the government NIT s have been granted the status of INI ::- INSTITUTE OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE : which was initially given to IIt s only.

not only this considerable amounts of money have been given to nits to raise there standarad .for eg. 18 crores have been given to nit jalandhar for building an It park inside the campus (which is under construction) and about 20 crore for other infrastructure. not only this with in one year of it being declaired INI the highest package has jumped from 6 lakh per annum to 12 lakh per annum and the average package per annum about 5.5 lakh .not only nit j but other nits are also on speedy growth in every field . and it has also been heard that from next year the state quots of the nit s would come to an end and they will be made fully central in admission process

so my question is that would this really boost up the nit status and the package strength. in the coming 4 or 5 years ?
