Question:

Increasing Waist Size?

I have a ectomorphic body type. Tiny wrists, ankles and waist. I plan on starting weight training in september. I know that joints (ankles and wrist) will always remain small. I was wondering if weight training could increase my waist/abdomen's (which is very tiny) width? My goal is to get my torso looking more masculine and not so tiny.

By the way. I am 5'11" Male and 130 pounds.

  1. Intellectualizing wrong action doesn't make it right.  Deliberately gaining weight -- whether you claim its to look masculine or not -- simply leads to fat later in life.  Rethink your self image, not your body type.

  4. You didnt give your age.  If you are in your teen years, this is a normal body type for some teens until they reach manhood and decide what they will be doing with their jobs, family, etc.  If you are an adult, choose a diet suitable to gain some body weight.  Better yet, speak to your physicial and get a referral to a dietician; your insurance should pay for this.  Diet and exercise are keys to body shape.
