Question:

Increasing my SAT score?

I took the may 3rd SAT, and I was VERY disappointed with my score of 1570. I'm a very good student and I usually do very well on standardized tests. I would love to go to Boston University one day, but my SAT scores aren't quite there. Any chances of me increasing it to at least an 1800? I'm going to study multiple SAT guides over the summer and retake the test in october. What are the best guides? I already have the one made by collegeboard. Can I realistically accomplish my goal?

  1. An 1800 should be a possibility for you, though it will of course take work. I strongly recommend working with The Official SAT Study Guide--which it sounds like you have--in conjunction with a prep book by either Kaplan or Princeton Review. Although you should try to improve across the board, you should note that Math and Writing are likely to give you the greatest payoff from your study time.

  2. RETAKE!!!

  3. You are unhappy with that score! You can get in to any college you want with that SAT score. Get a tutor who can teach you how to take the test. It isn't about how smart you but how you take tests.
