Increasing my yeilds in Sauv Blanc?

I have a vineyard it 9 years old, the past 4 years my sauvignon blan has been down almost 10 tonnes what should i do?

  1. I would suggest that you have someone from the extension system or from a university look at your vineyard and get a recommendation from them.  Before anyone can help you increase your yields it is going  to have to be determined the cause of your decreased yields.  It could be resulting from any number of things such as fertility, disease, improper pruning of the vines etc.  Good Luck.

If you've been in the grape business for at least 9 years, I'd think you'd either know a little more about it or you'd know of someone better qualified to answer than asking your question on here.  I farm and here's what I'd do, first of all, are your neighbors yields down as well?  If so, then it's probably climate, disease or insects affecting everyones.  If it's just yours, then it's specific to your operation and management.  As already mentioned, soil tests for adequate fertility, your management of the crop or bugs or disease specific to your farm.
