Indecisive - where should i go on vacation, puerto vallarta or cabo san lucas? Myself and three other guys plan on taking off again this summer. Last summer we went to cancun, i loved it, all inclusive resort, lots of clubs and women everywhere. Looking for the same in either of these places, i need recommendations on places with my intersts - lots of bars, nice hotels, beautiful women, great places to eat, and for a great price. we are going the second week of august.

  1. I am going to say Cabo's too.  I liked it better than Puerto Vallarta. Lots to do there. And if you like tattoos, they have a Hart & Huntington place there. My sis went nuts when she saw that, sadly it didn't open til later in the day, she was so bummed.

Go on a zip line tour, there great.

Have fun with what ever you chose.

  2. Acapulco is by far and away a better choice.  A 10 kilometer road hugs the beach and there are too many to list.

Hooters is  across from Wal Mart.

The list of strip bars would take hours to list for you but here are a few I know you will enjoy--Kisses -Sombreros--Tabares - all are full of wonderful Senoritas.

Beware that ordering a shot for the girl of your choice is $12.00 usd (She gets 35%)  The beer is quite cheap at these bars $2.25 as I recall.

I said what did you order, she O.J. (I OZ)  I said , why dont we go to my place, I have about $1,280.00 worth in my fridge. lol (Gallon)

Acapulco is Cancun to the 10th power.

I asked a bartender at "Barbarojas" What time do you close? He said "When the last customer leaves"

Drink up and leave are words not spoken in most of Aca ,translated or otherwise. The only thing you will have to worry about is how you are going to feel when you wake up. I usually wake up laughing.

    Acapulco  Thumbs Up

  3. Having been to both Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, here are a few details for both-

Puerto Vallarta- way more clubs, choices for resorts, and younger crowds.  Nightlife seems longer here with dance clubs finishing up after 4 am, just when after clubs are starting- they close at 9 am, just in time for breakfast.  Boardwalk is packed full of party folk and gorgeous women in bikini tops.  Food is great and ranges from four star to "tastes like four star but costs a dollar."  Also, plenty of water sports and jungle activities that aren't offered in Cabo.

Cabo is beautiful too, plenty of clubs, resorts and things to do.  The vacationers here seem to be an older crowd- particularly  sport fisherman.  Not that the crowd is old, but seems there are less 20-something vacationers here than PV. Cabo San Lucas has great nightclubs, great restaurants and is VERY modern- similar to PV's hotel zone area.  Surfing is a plus here, whereas limited in PV. Swimming, is not always safe in Cabo.

You're going to have a great time at either place and with not too much difference from the resorts themselves-

    here's the real question-

Would you rather be HOT or WET?  Cabo is HOT during August- really HOT.  Puerto Vallarta is WET- near-nightly downpours which can be annoying aside from the spectacular   lightening shows you'll see.

  4. Puerto Vallarta cause they made a whole movie about  it.  Pretty awesome.  But Cabo San Lucas is known for being awesome.  Anything is good i guess.

  5. I have stayed in Puerto Vallarta numerous times.  Always had a great time.  My daughter is at the Riu Palace in Cabo now.  Her room was broken into.  From what I can find on the internet this is common.  It looks like the theft postings are since Christmas.  We booked in November.  I am extremely worried for her safey now.  I would recommend Puerto Vallarta, I have gone there for over 20 years and never felt unsafe.

  6. If you liked Cancun, you will like Cabo San Lucas, full of people just like you who are there to party. Puerto Vallarta has too much Mexican culture. You wouldn't like that. Besides, it is the rainy season in PV in August.

  7. Hola.  Well I'm a bit impartial but I'm going to say try Cabo!

We have the best clubs (cabo wabo, el squid roe, giggling marlin, etc. - you will freak out when you see how fun this square block of non-stop partying is!)

Tons of great 5 star hotels.  After all, this is where all the celebrities come to party weekends and on their holidays.  You will no doubt spot one or two.

Beautiful women.  Too many to count.  Just hang out at Medano beach for the day and you will have wood all day.

Food is amazing.  The variety of restaurants that are top notch will blow your mind. You can get anything from Brazilian to Japanese.  And of course Mexican.

Cabo is extremely expensive.  More expensive than any other resort in Mexico.  But you pay for what you get.  If you want cheap cheap, go to PV or Mazatlan.

August is really humid and hot.  Also it is right in the middle of hurricane season, but that's not a big deal.

  8. I went to Cabo san Lucas about two years ago for the first time and loved it! My hubby and I stayed at Melia Real resort (we're young) and so we enjoyed the nightly activities they had, the swim up bar in the pool, the yummy food, helpful staff, and awesome pool. Overall we had a great time! The water was too rough to swim in though, too many huge waves. There was a free shuttle service from the hotel to downtown and so we made use of that and went downtown and would see all the party-people getting ready to hit the clubs. We're actually thinking about checking out PV this summer. Your going to like either city - its just fun times all around!
