Indefinite leave to remain (in person application) query?

Hi there,

In a few weeks time, I am submitting my application for indefinite leave to remain at the PE office in East Croydon. I would like to hear from those who have applied in person for ILR. What type of questions should I expect from the immigration officer? I have all the documents ready, however, if there is anything else that I should be aware of?

  1. Get there very early (7 or 8am), and bring yourself a good book, or other pass-time. I don't think they use an appointment system, and anybody who doesn't get there before 11am or so may not get in before close.

As for questions, they will be simple questions, based on your application.  Answer simply (short answers - don't volunteer too much extra info) and honestly, and you'll be fine.
