so for English class i have to write an essay about independence day malaysia except since I'm not from there i need to do some research so for anyone from malaysia here can you tell me what independence means to you or what independence day means to you and where does it come from like its history and all that.

EXTRA POINTS for anyone that can tell me about canada too since I'm from there and we don't have independence day i need to find something to relate it too so any special days in canada or anything like that
