Are there any qualifications for it? So im short credits for high school from failing so many classes, and may have to go to a continuation school. What i wanted to know was is independent studies only for certain people that have disabilities? Or can anyone do it? Same with home schooling. My parents dont want to have to do anything so I was thinking independent studies but then i heard only certain people can do it.... so ya if anyone knows let me know!

Thanks!! :)

  1. Homeschooling is for EVERYONE and ANYONE who wants to do it. If your parents don't want to do the work an dyou need the credits, you could always do online school. We don't have independent study in my school district. At least, not that I know of, but i'm pretty sure that if it's not open to everyone then it's just open to more advanced students. Homebound is what you're thinking of. That's for people with medical or psychological problems who have to do school from home or from a hospital. It's not the same as homeschooling

  2. Where I live, independent studies is for anyone. The people who typically do it are people who can't handle normal school, have to work full time, or got kicked out of school, but anyone who wants to can (as long as there is availability). I am doing it for medical reasons, but even if I get better, I hope to continue with this program. I love it! The only real qualifications are people who are self disciplined/motivated enough to do the work. Many people are not responsible enough to complete their work and would get kicked out of the program. Good luck with it!
