Indesit DI620UK Dishwasher fault

Question

My indesit dishwasher has stopped heating the water during the wash cycle and at the end when drying.

When I opened the door light 4 was flashing. Can you tell me what this means.

Is there a way to find out if it is the heating element that is faulty or the temperature sensor.
