  1. Around 1000 Rp per day. Plus extra money for big travel expenses such as train, bus, and plane.

  2. Accomodation and internal airfares are expensive but the rest is cheap.   $25 will not get you far as cheap hotel rooms are around $20 per night and get as expensive as $100+.   Food, bus, entertanment are cheap.  Budget item by item and see what you can do without.  You'll find you'll have to settle for real cheap accomodation to survive on $25/day.  Good luck.

  3. India is cheap....

and if its not a big city thn dnt worry dude its cheap...

and i suggest dnt care for money coz u can always get it through    western union bank or ne...

and its ur choice how u wanna live... if u wanna live nicely thn i guess u will have to may more and its just ur choice... max. would be 100$ and min. would b 25$ from my point of view....

search for hotels and its cost in this web site:

    http://www.hotelsinindia.com/

  4. this much is adequate... keep 30% spare for adjustments...

  5. its very very cheap ( 7- 8dollars is enough for good accomodations based on your needs )

i'm indian..i visited from north to south & east to west

u can live even freely in some places, run by charity ( known as dharmashala ) organisations

chk out railway retiring rooms/ rail yatri niwas ( its good & affordable) accomodations near stations provided  by indian railways to passengers/travelers

all budget accomodations are easily available

most important thing is indians are very friendly & helpful ...don't worry

& try smaller motels/dhabas/hotels ...u will get good accomodation at cheap rates

** note: bargaining skill is also important, try to get discounts from them..

  6. I just got back on Saturday. Accommodation varies alot. In Mumbai I stayed in a quite nice hotel twin room for around $50 per night, on the sea front in Goa I got a hut for around $5.

$5 will get you a good meal.

I agree with the post above that says around 1000Rp per day is enough.

Obviously costs go down the longer you stay, in part down to your attitude towards spending.

  7. if you are not going to big city then 25 to 30 dollors is ok if you do not want to stay in some big luxury hotels, in economy type it is enough.

for one time food it will be cost you 1 to 2 dollor

for one day accomadation it will be 4 to 5 dollor

for transportation it will cost you if you travel by bus per k.m 0.75 paise of indian rupee and if you travel by train it will cost you 0.25 to 0.50 paise depend on the distance. more long journey hours will cost you less for example if you travel 300 k.m it will cost you 150 to 175 and if you travel 2000 k.m it will cost you 500 rs only

just calculate it your travel distance and get the per day average will come not more then 9 to 10 dollor.

  8. Maybe lesser than that

  9. Its all depend on your budget but still this is enough.. visit holidayclubindia.net

  10. India caters to all pocket sizes...even to Indians ..so go ahead make that trip and enjoy !!! mind u now a days Indians are aware that u will bring us dollars!!!

  11. Hey if you avoid large cities you will be fine. In fact you can expect to get by with as little as 10USD too in some places.

Room you can get for as little as $5 for a dormitory to up to much as $15 for a cheap hotel room. transportation may be your biggest cost. If you use public trasnport you can spend as little as 2-3 usd per day or up to $10 USd for taxis. food is also cheap. again you can get by w/ very little or you can live it up and spend up to $50 a day easily. India has both options, you have to be budget consous urself. happy journey.

  12. 20-30 USD are enough .It will not cost you more than this.Welcome to my country India

  13. Well it depends on where exactly you are going. But 25-30 usd/day won't be much in a city like Mumbai or Delhi. Hotels are pretty expensive in Mumbai, so you will have to settle for the lower end hotels or still better find yourself an apt. if you plan to stay longer in a place. Food also depends on where you go to eat. It can cost you anywhere from $5 and upwards. Transportation wise, if you take a public bus or train it should not be much. I am talking about local commute here not inter city commute.

  14. I agree with Ishita...25-30  dollars should be sufficient for a day but $50 I bet is a decent deal with good hotel, site seeing offers and other stuff. Pay more get more.
