India's Government?

Hey! I'm doing a project for school on the government of India and was just wondering if any of you guys could help. I've found several sites that tell about the different states and jobs and comittiees, but I've no clue as to how their government acutally runs. If you have any information AT ALL, that would be awesome. Links, webbies, experiences...
