India A coach says the foreign tours will help Indian Cricket - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lalchand-Sitaram-Rajput-c72139, the India A coach, has commended Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for scheduling regular overseas tours for the side as it will provide India’s future cricketers to groom their skills under different playing conditions.
The India A squad, after touring West Indies in June, will embark on a tour to New Zealand, starting from September 18.
"The BCCI is doing a great job to send 'A' tour abroad more often," Rajput said. “These players go to other countries and get accustomed, and when they play for the country and tour, they are well-prepared."
The team has assembled for a training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore, and Rajput is hopeful that the ongoing preparations would benefit his side ahead of their travels.
The lack of practice and wet conditions were the major reasons for their 2-1 loss in the unofficial Test series against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 A, where many of the upcoming youngsters failed with the bat.
“Before the last tour, we did not have a camp, it was raining, so we went straight into the Test match,” the coach said, but added that it cannot be termed as an excuse.
“We are preparing as per New Zealand conditions. The main aim is to develop all our players to perform in those conditions,” he further added.
The A side also includes Unmukt Chand, the star of Indian Under-19 team, that won http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 last month. Pleased with the talent of the 19-year-old, Rajput believes that for Chand, joining the Indian team is just a matter
of time. The coach said that performing in the A team could bring any player a step closer to an international call.
"Chand is a very strong player. This is a real test for him. I am sure that if he can pass this course, next step is Indian team," the India A coach said.
The tour includes two unofficial Tests and three One-Day matches in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
