The gradual fall of wickets was becoming a cause of concern for the batting side as this was not what they had in mind when they chose to bat first.
The side needed to bat with a little more decency in order to restrict Haryana from dominating them.
Disaster struck when on 51 runs, the side lost Uthappa, who was dismissed after playing an impressive knock of 35 runs.
With the well-set batsman back in the pavilion, Karnataka were in a spot of bother and were looking at the remaining batsmen to give a befitting performance in order to avoid a batting collapse in the first innings.
