India International Challenge: Chien h*i Yu shows exit to Kaberi Phukon in qualifying round fight
Chinese Taipei’s Chien h*i Yu lived up to the expectations as she proved her worth against the local shuttler Kaberi Phukon in Women’s Singles qualifying round fight at Tata Open India International Challenge 2012 on Wednesday, December 12, in India.
The in-form Chien h*i, who is the top seed in Women’s Singles qualifying round, showed her elite skills in the arena and she consumed just 18 minutes to show exit to her un-seeded challenger in a one-sided fashion.
Taipei shuttler started her campaign in a dominating manner as she played attacking badminton throughout the clash and easily thrashed Kaberi in straight games with a stunning margin on the board.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Kaberi failed to show her brilliance as she could not live up to expectations despite having the support of her home fans. She crashed out without proving her worth against her Taipei rival.
In the first game, Chien h*i delivered played controlled and attacking badminton and easily took over the control without facing even a meagre resistance.
The top seeded Chien h*i proved that she has attained highest class skills in the arena and eventually successful in taking a strong domination in the arena.
Chien h*i remained in dominating position all the way as she did not let her challenger to fight back and eventually managed a huge lead until the break.
The confused Kaberi could not play positive game after the mid-game interval as she lost her focus in the arena and committed many errors.
Taipei shuttler did not reduce the pace of the game at any stage and comfortably clinched the first set with a comfortable 21-13 difference on the board.
Things were similar in the second set of this entertaining fight as Chien h*i played in the similar attacking way.
Chien h*i was in remarkable form and she remained successful in building a stunning gap until the one-minute break.
Kaberi could not put up strong show in the second set of this battle as her opponent Chien h*i played aggressive badminton and wrapped up the game with an incredible margin of 21-3.
Thai lady left the court as a winner as she easily crushed Kaberi in qualifying round encounter with a staggering 21-13 and 21-3 score on the board.
