India International Challenge: Febby Angguni ousts Arundhati Pantawane in second round clash
Indonesia’s upcoming shuttler Febby Angguni showed an overwhelming performance in the arena and outplayed her local rival Arundhati Pantawane in Women’s Singles second round at Tata Open India International Challenge on Friday, December 14, in India.
Febby, who participated in this tournament as an un-seeded player in Women’s Singles category, showed a great performance by playing to her maximum potential and remained successful in beating the fourth seeded Arundhati in 45 minutes.
The Indonesian player showed aggression on court from the opening points and remained successful in beating her Indian challenger in straight games with a controlled margin on the board.
On the other hand, the fourth seeded Arundhati failed to make her home fans happy as she could not put up strong show against the lower ranked Indonesian shuttler and eventually lost the set without grabbing any set.
It was a wonderful fight in the initial points when both participants showed their incredible skills. However, Febby showed her brilliance and started to dictate the pace of rallies by playing attacking badminton.
The incredible variations in Febby’s strokes helped her to maintain her superiority against the Indian shuttler in the arena.
Indonesian lady advanced with a terrific speed in the first part and remained in lead on the board until the break.
The underdog Arundhati failed to create trouble for her rival after the mid-game interval as she lost her focus in the arena.
The positive and planned play of Febby assisted her to claim the opening game with a superb margin of 21-15.
Arundhati put in extra effort to play tricky badminton in the starting half of second game but could not construct pressure on her rival.
Febby was at the best of her form and she remained successful in building a superb difference until the end of first half.
In the concluding half of second game, the impressive Febby continued her comfortable ride and easily ended up the second set by a convincing margin of 21-17.
Indonesian lady proved her worth on Indian soil and showed exit to Arundhati in a crushing fashion by ending up the second round clash in straight sets with a superb 21-15 and 21-17 score on the board.
