India International Challenge: Parinyawat Thongnuam ousts Eshan Naqvi in qualifying round encounter
Thailand’s upcoming player Parinyawat Thongnuam showed his supremacy on court as he defeated his local challenger Eshan Naqvi in Men’s Singles qualifying round at Tata Open India International Challenge 2012 on Wednesday, December 12, in India.
The higher ranked Parinyawat, who is the second seeded player in Men’s Singles qualifying round draw, showed aggression in the arena and he remained successful in winning against Eshan in a thrilling fight that took 34 minutes.
Thai player found a perfect start as he did not face any trouble in the first game. However he had to work extra hard in the second set and took it narrowly to end up this contest in straight games with a reasonable margin on the board.
On the other hand, Eshan could not find a good flow in the opening set of the battle but he played with wonderful speed in the second game. However, he failed to control the pace of rallies in the ending points and lost the match with a respectable total.
The unmatched speed and attacking shots of Parinyawat helped him to take control of the pace from the starting rallies of first set.
The speed of the rallies was quite fast in first set and Parinyawat entertained local crowd with his unmatched craft.
Until the end of starting half of starting set, the in-form Parinyawat attained a strong position on board by establishing a reasonable lead.
The match proceeded in the same fashion after the one-minute interval as Parinyawat did not lose his focus on court.
It was a smooth sailing for the in-form Parinyawat who did not face any reasonable opposition from his rival and won the first set with a superb 21-7 margin on the board.
However, it was a different game in the second set when Eshan elevated his play and managed to stay close to his Thai challenger until the end of opening half.
After the break, both contestants continued playing attacking and positive badminton and reached at the nail-biting stage of 21-21.
At this stage, the lofty Parinyawat controlled his nerves and played with precision which helped him to take the game with a tight 23-21 score on the board.
Parinyawat stamped his mark over Eshan in this qualifying round match by taking 34 minutes with a margin of 21-7 and 23-21.
