India International Challenge: R. M. V. Gurusaidutt ousts Aditya Prakash in Men’s Singles semi-final
India’s experienced player R. M. V. Gurusaidutt continued his dominating run and stormed into Men’s Singles final after crushing his lower ranked compatriot Aditya Prakash in semi-final clash at Tata Open India International Challenge 2012 in India, on Saturday,
December 15.
The World Number 43 Gurusaidutt, who is the second seed in Men’s Singles main draw of the championship, showed his superiority in the arena and remained successful in thrashing his country-mate in just 35 minutes.
Gurusaidutt was in superb form in the arena and he proved that he is one class above his team-mate as he played flawless badminton and finished off the match in straight sets with a crushing margin.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Aditya could not match the class of his higher ranked challenger as he failed to take the bird early and eventually went down without even posing a small threat to his compatriot.
The higher ranked Gurusaidutt showed his aggression on court from the opening points of first set by building a huge pressure on his opponent.
The speed of the rallies was quite fast in first set and Gurusaidutt impressed local crowd with his unparalleled craft.
Until the one-minute break, the impressive Gurusaidutt stayed fully focused and he took a smashing lead on the score board.
The match proceeded in the same way after the one-minute interval as Gurusaidutt did not lose his commanding position in the arena.
Gurusaidutt remained consistent in employing powerful strokes in targeted areas and grabbed the opening game with a comfortable margin of 21-11.
Aditya tried his best to play tricky badminton in first part of second game but he failed to create pressure on his opponent.
Gurusaidutt impressed the crowd with his lofty skills that assisted him to maintain pressure on his challenger who failed to produce good form.
The attacking and positive play in the ending half of second set assisted Gurusaidutt to earn the set with a superb total of 21-11.
The in-form Gurusaidutt eased into Men’s Singles final after thrashing Aditya in straight sets with a completely lopsided fashion by a huge margin of 21-11 and 21-11.
