India International Challenge: So Hee Lee and Seung Chan Shin penetrate into Women’s Doubles final
Korea’s in-form players So Hee Lee and Seung Chan Shin continued their winning streak and eventually secured their berth in Women’s Doubles final at the Tata Open India International Challenge 2012, which is in progress in India.
In the semi-final clash, So Hee and Seung Chan showed an aggressive approach and remained successful in defeating Malaysia’s Amelia Alicia Anscelly and Fie Cho Soong on Saturday, December 15.
Korean shuttlers, who are top seeds in Women’s Singles main draw in the championship, played with terrific speed and managed to end up the winning run of their lower ranked Malaysian rivals by taking just 33 minutes.
So Hee and Seung Chan played with remarkable precision in the arena and they managed to end up the contest in a controlled fashion as they took it in straight games with a completely controlled margin on the board.
Meanwhile, the third seeded Amelia and Fie Cho were shocked with the severe treatment which they received from their Korean rivals and eventually crashed out at the semi-final stage without proving their brilliance in the arena.
So Hee and Seung Chan showed an amazing display of their elite skills and took over the control from the starting points of first game.
Korean shuttlers maintained their speed and control all the way and eventually set up a huge margin on the board until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Amelia and Fie Cho tried to play better badminton but failed to stay positive and could not reduce the huge gap.
On the other hand, So Hee and Seung Chan did not show any sign of confusion throughout the concluding half and easily too the game with a one-sided margin of 21-12.
In the second set, the top seeded Korean ladies did not show any respect to their Malaysian challengers at any stage and remained successful in grabbing a wonderful lead until the one-minute interval.
After the break, So Hee and Seung Chan remained on track without losing their domination over the pace of rallies and they easily took the second set with a crushing margin of 21-13.
Korean shuttlers stamped their supremacy on court by beating their Malaysian rivals in straight games with a one-sided 21-12 and 21-13 score on the board.
