India Open 2013: Mohita Sahdev outplays Yamini Sharma in Women’s Singles qualifying round
India’s young and talented player Mohita Sahdev showed a good performance in Women’s Singles qualifying round when she easily outplayed her compatriot Yamini Sharma at the Yonex Sunrise India Open 2013 at New Delhi, on Tuesday, April 23.
The aggressive Mohita, who has been working hard in training sessions to get elevated skills, showed a great performance and easily sent her country-mate packing while consuming just 31 minutes on court.
Mohita started her journey in this contest in a completely dominating manner as she played with wonderful precision and managed to wrap up a spectacular victory in straight games with a superb margin of 21-12 and 21-15.
Yamini, on the other hand, could not produce better form as she missed many chances to earn points and remained struggling on court. She could not escape a defeat from the hands of her in-form challenger in a completely one-sided fashion.
Mohita played with outstanding control in her strokes and managed to control the driving seat from opening points of the opening set. The unmatched variations in her shots assisted her to maintain her superiority against her opponent in the arena.
Until the one-minute break, the confident Mohita stayed on track without facing any trouble and she easily set up a superb lead on the score board.
Yamini tried her best to show aggression but could not take charge of rallies and remained trailing in the concluding part. She also committed many unforced errors that enabled her rival to maintain a good lead.
Mohita did not reduce the speed of the game at any stage and easily won the first game with a reasonable 21-12 margin on the board.
Yamini put in extra effort to play smart badminton in the first part of second set but she failed to build pressure on her challenger.
The well directed smashes and spinning net shots kept Mohita ahead of her challenger all the way until the one-minute interval in second game.
The impressive Mohita continued putting up sound show in the concluding half of second game and remained successful in clinching the game with a sound 21-15 difference on score board.
