India Open 2013: Ratchanok Intanon outplays P. V. Sindhu in Women’s Singles semi-final

Thailand’s seasoned player Ratchanok Intanon continued her spectacular winning run and reached into the Women’s Singles final after defeating her local rival P. V. Sindhu in semi-final clash at Yonex Sunrise India Open 2013 on Saturday, April 27, in New
Delhi.
The third seeded Ratchanok, who played remarkable badminton in all of her contests in India Open, continued putting up superb show of her lofty craft and remained successful in crushing her lower ranked Indian challenger in a commanding fashion by taking
just 32 minutes.
Thai shuttler played in a confident and comfortable manner and she did not show any mercy to her opponent. She remained on driving seat all the way and ended up the battle in straight sets with an excellent 21-12 and 21-6 score on the board.
On the other hand, the eighth seeded Sindhu could not stretch her winning run in front of her home fans. She remained struggling against Ratchanok all the way and lost the semi-final contest in a lopsided fashion.
Ratchanok delivered extremely well from the starting rallies of first game as she played with spectacular speed and took over the charge of rallies.
The lofty skills and tricky game plan assisted Ratchanok to put her challenger in all sorts of trouble on court.
Until the end of starting half of starting set, the remarkable Ratchanok attained a strong position on score board by establishing a sufficient gap.
Sindhu tried to show aggression but could not take charge of rallies and remained trailing in the concluding part.
Ratchanok continued hitting powerful smashes in targeted areas and grabbed the opening game with a stunning total of 21-12.
Sindhu increased her speed to play tricky badminton in the starting half of second set but she failed to build pressure on her rival.
Ratchanok impressed the crowd with her incredible craft that helped her to maintain pressure on her opponent who failed to find good rhythm.
The aggressive Ratchanok continued putting up reasonable show in the concluding part of second game and remained successful in winning the set with a superb 21-6 margin on score board.
