India Open Super Series 2012: Jung Kyung Eun and Kim Ha Na claim Women’s Doubles title
Korea’s Jung Kyung Eun and Kim Ha Na proved their worth as they claimed Women’s Doubles title after taming Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin in the title match of the India Open Super Series 2012 in India, on Sunday, April 29.
The World Number 10 Kyung Eun and Ha Na, who were seeded at number 6 in Women’s Doubles world rankings, showed their elevated craft and overpowered their Chinese opponents in an inspiring fashion.
Kyung Eun and Ha Na were impressive in the court on the final day of India Open and they defeated their opponents in straight games by taking 51 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, the World Number 15 Yixin and Qianxin failed to dominate the pace against their higher ranked Korean opponents and lost the title match without winning any game.
In the first game of this Women’s Doubles final encounter, both sides played aggressive badminton and showed their wonderful skills.
Both pairs put up superb show of positive game and remained close on the board until the one-minute interval in the first set.
After the break, Kyung Eun and Ha Na changed their tactics to dominate the pace but failed to take advantage as their lower ranked Chinese rivals were also positive in the court.
The score reached at 16-16 when Kyung Eun and Ha Na changed their game plan and managed to take the ending points to take the set with a 21-17 score on the board.
In the second game, both pairs again started it well in the opening rallies and remained close on the board.
However, Kyung Eun and Ha Na geared up their speed at net and took a four-point advantage of 11-7 until the mid-game interval.
After the break, The Chinese duo changed their tactics and remained successful in ending the deficit by reaching at 14-14.
They continued playing well until 18-18 when Kyung Eun and Ha Na again showed their brilliance and won the game with a decent score of 21-18.
Kyung Eun and Ha Na bagged Women’s Doubles title at India Open by winning the title match with a 21-17 and 21-18 score on the board.
