India-Pakistan ODI in Kolkata may start a couple of hours earlier – Cricket News Update
The second One Day International of the much-anticipated three-match series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 (CAB) official revealed on Thursday.
The day and night fixture between the archrivals is originally scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm, but the organisers are contemplating over starting the match at 12 noon to counter the unfavourable wet conditions caused by heavy dew coupled with fog late in the evening.
This was revealed by the Cricket Association of Bengal’s (CAB) joint secretary Subir Ganguly, who also said that any decision in this regard will be taken only after seeking BCCI’s approval.
"It's heavy dew couple with fog during this time of the year. We will seek the Board's permission to advance the One-dayer for a few hours so that the match gets over early before the dew falls," said Subir Ganguly, who was in Delhi to attend a marketing committee meeting of the Board.
"The early start will also help the spectators to leave early, I am sure we will get the Board's nod," the CAB joint secretary added further.
Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to tour India late this month to play two T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals against the hosts, the first bilateral series between the sub-continental cricketing giants in five years.
The other two ODIs of the series will be hosted by Chennai and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780, while Bangalore and Ahmedabad are the venues for the two T20 Internationals, to be played on December 25 and 27 respectively. The third one-dayer in Delhi, on January 6 is also expected to be rescheduled due to same reason.
Cricketing relations between the two countries have been on hold since the terrorist attacks in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397.
