India-Pakistan cricket is good for the game: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ehsan-Mani-c55791 – Cricket News Update
Former chief of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Ehsan Mani, has expressed his delight at the recent developments in the bilateral cricketing ties between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and India, with both teams due to play a short series in December this year, hailing the decision as “good for the game”.
“Any cricket between India-Pakistan can only be good for the game,” said Mani. “Very unfortunate there was no cricket all this while. I am glad things are back on track and they would only get better from here on. Cricket is important in bridging barriers.”
The series marks a thaw in bilateral sporting relations between the two nations, which had been frozen since the 2008 terror attacks in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820. The last series between the two teams was played in 2007, after which the Men In Blue were due to tour the country – however, the series was called off by the BCCI in accordance with a directive from the Indian government.
The Pakistani players were sidelined in editions of the Indian Premier League that followed, leading to a further deterioration of ties. The PCB offered to send the team to India, or host the Men In Blue at a neutral venue (owing to the dubious security situation in Pakistan), but the offers were not entertained by the BCCI.
However, a recent frequency in high-level meetings between the two boards, first at the 2012 Indian Premier League final this May in Chennai, which PCB chairman Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 conference held in Kuala Lumpur during June, hinted at an impending breakthrough.

The development has been welcomed as a step in the right direction, which will have a positive impact within and beyond the cricketing world.
“I know that when cricket is played regularly between Pakistan and India it does have a positive trickledown effect on the people that is why I have been saying it is important to have Indo-Pak contests,” said former Pakistan leg-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdul-Qadir-c41605.
