India and East Indian...?

is there a difference? I want try some Indian food and I was looking up restaurants and all I keep finding are East Indian restuarants around my neighborhood.

  1. look for indian cusiune! see if that helps indian usually means mative american lyk some1 said! but just to letu know inidan food is da bomb!(the indian cusuine!)


  2. indian usually means 'native american' or 'american indian'

    east indian is used then to indicate from the country india.

    all based on that mythical mistake made when someone assumed they were in india upon finding north america.

    indian food might be fry bread and indian tacos...

    or roasted maize...in albuquerque there is a restaurant that

    servies indian (native american) foods.

  5. i completely agree with the first answerer... indian usually means native american in the US. when they say east indian, it usually means our desi food. as such native american food is quite blended with american food, so usually they have blended native american food with tex mex kind of food, so if they say indian food, 99 out of 100 times it refers to desi food....
