Cricket South Africa CEO, Gerald Majola, has said in the aftermath of the drawn Test series in India, which left India as the No. 1 ranked Test side, that: “Considering the exciting nature of this series, perhaps it is time to consider playing a five-match Test series between the two countries, and create our very own Ashes”.

The idea of a longer Test series between the two teams to build the on-field rivalry is appealing based on what we’ve seen here, and especially now they are both such strong Test teams.
