India announce squad for U-19 Asia Cup, Unmukt Chand retained as captain – Cricket News Update
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced its 15-member squad for the Asian Cricket Council’s Under-19 Cup to be held in Malaysia, later this month.
Bengal’s right-handed batsman, Sandipan Das, and wicketkeeper batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerala-c803, Sanju Samson, have been included in the squad to be skippered by young Delhi batsman Unmukt Chand.
Sandip Das has been included in the squad for the esteemed regional one-day tournament for his consistent performance in the Cooch Behar Trophy earlier this year. Sanju Samson on the other hand, was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders’
squad for the recently concluded season five of the Indian Premier League, however, he failed to get a game during the 54-day long tournament, which saw his team playing 18 matches.
Those who were part of the U-19 team that played a quadrangular series in Australia in April but failed to make a cut for the U-19 Asia Cup include Prashant Chopra, Kumar Deobrat and Kuldeep Yadav.
The Unmukt Chand-led Indian team faltered miserably during the group stage of the quadrangular series down under, which also featured http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 and England, before making a strong comeback in the knock out stage which saw them crushing
England in the semi-finals before beating the hosts comprehensively in the final by seven wickets.

in the IPL-V. Akshdeep Nath has also been retained as the vice captain of the Under 19 team for the Asia Cup tournament.
