India continued their remarkable rise towards domination of world cricket, after pummelling the Aussies 2 nil in the test series. India notched up a hard fought 5 wicket win in the 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam.  It was another
great evidence of the depth the Indians have in their squad as they had rested number of seniors for the ODI series, but the home team still managed to overcome the World Champions with relative ease in the end.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 must be wondering what they need to do to beat India on their own turf; the stand in Captain Michael Clarke won the toss and decided to bat first on a pitch that was looking favourable for the batsmen. However they did
not exactly vindicate the captain’s decision. The man making a comeback, Shaun Marsh, could not make much of an impression.  The left handed opening batsman was bowled over by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashish-Nehra-c46293 with a quick in dipper. His opening partner Tim Paine did not last
much longer either. He was caught in the covers by Vinay Kumar for Nehra’s 2nd wicket.
With the score at 16 for 2, Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 and Michael Hussey got together in the middle and started the rebuilding process. The left right duo did take the cautious approach and made sure that they do not lose anymore wickets. Clarke
and Hussey added 144 runs for the 3rd wicket and resurrected the innings to some degree. In the final overs, Cameron White came in and used the long handle to great effect, and made sure that Australia made optimum use of the batting Powerplays.
Michael Hussey was dismissed for 69 runs, he was out LBW to the off spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Ashwin-c2228. Michael Clarke remained unbeaten on 111 from 139 balls with 7 fours and a six, while Cameron White smashed 89 runs from just 49 balls with 6 fours and 6 magnificent sixes
to take the score to 289 for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Considering how the innings had started it sure was a great recovery by the visitors. India though with their young but strong batting line up would have fancied getting to the target of 290.
The start for India though was almost identical; http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Murali-Vijay-c78035 was also sent back for just 15 runs with India at 35 for 2 in the 9th over.
That was when Yuvraj Singh and former Under 19 captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 came together to rebuild the innings, just as Clarke and Hussey had done for Australia. The duo did not go after the attack at the beginning and started building
a solid platform to launch from.
The pair put together a brilliant stand of 137 runs for the 3rd
wicket and brought India right back in the game. Yuvraj Singh was dismissed from a clever slower one by Clint McKay and in came Suresh Raina. The man who had been in great touch for Chennai Super Kings in Champions League T20, continued on in the same
vein of form. The left hander gave able support to Kohli and smashed 71 runs from just 49 balls with 9 fours and one six. Kohli completed a well deserved and hard fought hundred but was dismissed just before he took the team over the finish line. Virat Kohli
was dismissed for 118. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 came in next but was bowled on the very first ball, however that did not have too much of an impact on the final outcome as Raina and Suresh Tiwary guided India home with 7 balls and 5 wickets to spare.
India now lead the 3 match series 1-0, with the first match being washed away due to rain.
