South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first. The bounce and pace of the wicket was useful for the South African bowlers and they grabbed the opportunity with both hands by bowling India out for just 205 runs.
Although India started off with some resistance but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn ruined their stable start. None of the Indian batsmen were able to make a big impression. Many batsmen got off to a start but lost wickets at regular intervals. Eight batsmen got starts but no
one was able to capitalize.

For South Africa, the number one bowler in Tests Dale Steyn was devastating as he grabbed six wickets in the innings. He was well supported by Lonwabo Tsotsobe and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morne-Morkel-c77722 who took a couple of wicket each to wrap up the Indian innings.
South Africa would have expected to score as much runs as possible just like the first match but the Indian bowlers didn’t allow them to take off this time. Hashim Amla was the only batsman who threatened to score a big innings before he got out for 33 attempting
a sweep shot. The other batsman who got a start was Alviro Petersen who could only manage 25. Jacques Kallis was run out when the ball was straight driven by Amla and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ishant-Sharma-c64566 managed to put his hand on it. The ball ran into the stumps and Kallis was
found short of his crease. Mark Boucher remained unbeaten on 16 but he was left with no partners.
The return of Zaheer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 was welcomed by the Indians as he took three wickets to trouble the South Africans. After the good start from Khan, Harbhajan Singh took full advantage and ran through the tail enders. He took four wickets for just 10 runs to dismiss
South Africa for 131 in their first innings.
India got a 74 run lead in the first innings and started the second innings with a confident 42 run partnership. All of a sudden, four of the Indian batsmen got out for 14 runs to leave India at 56 for four. Before the close of play, VVS Laxman and Pujara
stabled the innings with a 36 run partnership extending the total lead to 166. Sehwag scored 33 whereas the overnight unbeaten batsman Laxman managed 23 runs.
Lonwabo Tsotsobe took two wickets whereas Morkel and Steyn also chipped in with one wicket each. The match is evenly poised at this stage and India will look to extend the lead to as much as possible. South Africa will look to bowl India out early in the
third day and chase down the total.
