India draws first blood in the five match One-Day International series being played against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760. The hosts held their nerves to pull-off a one wicket win over the Caribbean side, courtesy of Rohit Sharma.
Batting first, the tourists posted 211 runs on the board. At first, it seemed as if India will chase down the total with minimum of hustle, but West Indian bowlers bowled with great heart and troubled the Indian batsmen with a
nippy line and length.
If it wasn’t for the heroic innings of Sharma, the hosts would have fallen well short of the West Indian total. The 24-year-old was declared Man of the Match for playing his part in India’s win.
Sharma was over the moon after receiving this award. The cricketer believes playing in Ranji Trophy has helped him a lot.

Sharma came out to bat when India was struggling at 47 for the loss of three wickets. The right-handed batsman hung in there while his partners on the other end found their way back, one after the other.
Sharma played a blistering knock of 72 runs which included three fours and one six but could not see his side through to the finish line, as he got out with just 10 runs short of the target. The match got tense afterwards but India
somehow crawled through to the winning total.
Furious with himself for not carrying the bat, Sharma said, “Idea was to play throughout the innings and get http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 through. Very disappointed that I wasn't able to finish it but we won in the end, and that's what matters. Myself
