India fears a terrorist attack during the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011
India has made startling revelations about a possible terrorist attack during the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011 which it is hosting along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
Authorities in India believe that there is a strong possibility that anti-India militants would try to target the ongoing mega event. According to details, the teams taking part in the tournament are also under threat, as the terrorists might target the
hotels they are staying in.
India’s Secretary for Internal Security, U K Bansal said, “There have been a large number of inputs over the last couple of months. All these put together could be an opportunity, which anti-India elements could exploit. We are sounding an alert.”
Law enforcement agencies in India claim that they have taken strong measures to prevent any terrorist attack from taking place and are confident that the mega event will proceed smoothly. However, authorities clarified that they had no knowledge that would
suggest a specific target.
On 28 February, 2011, the Indian media reported that the security agencies informed the government about the infiltration of 29 terrorists in the country. The terrorists were said to be members of a militant group known as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This group

Ever since the attacks, Pakistan has been a no go area for international teams which has left the Pakistan Cricket Board with no other option but to play their home series in a third country.
However, Pakistan is hoping to revive international cricket in the country after the World Cup by inviting Sri Lanka for a full series.
