India has taken control on day two of their first Test match against New Zealand that is being played at the Sardar Patel Motera stadium in Ahmedabad.
Resuming on the overnight score of 329/3 the hosts lost quick wickets in the morning session as Daniel Vettori’s team looked set to run through the hosts.
Master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, was the first one to fall on day two. The right hander was dismissed by spinner Jeetan Patel for 40 runs. Tendulkar toiled for his runs striking 5 fours in his 133 ball knock.

Pragyan Ojha gave Harbhajan good company scoring 11 runs off 59 balls. He was the last man dismissed by Patel, and the hosts posted 487 runs in a total of 151.5 overs.
For the Black Caps their captain Vettori captured 4 wickets, while Patel captured 3 wickets after toiling for 29 overs, of which 6 were maidens.
In reply the Black Caps were rocked early on with the demise of Tim McIntosh without scoring after playing ten balls.
