While talking to goal.com, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam midfielder expressed his love for India while admitting that he enjoys a close relationship with Norway as well.
Feyenoord Rotterdam midfielder, Harmeet Singh, has expressed his love for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/India-c750 in a recent interview to goal.com. The 21-year-old has revealed that he visits his motherland every summer, though; he admitted that he has been unable
to go to his beloved country for the past eight years due to club obligations.
“I was born in Oslo, but most of my family were living in India at the time. I do have some aunts and cousins in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Norway-c2974, too, but I went back to India every summer as a kid”, Singh was quoted as saying to Goal.com.
The talented midfielder, who arrived at De Kuip Stadion earlier last month after making over 100 league appearances for Valerenga, went on insist that he is half Norwegian and half Indian.
“India is really close to my heart. I see myself as an Indian guy, but I also have a close relationship with Norway because that's where I was born and went to school. I'm half Indian and half Norwegian, an Indian guy born in Norway”,
Singh added.
The youngster has failed to visit his beloved country for a while now, but he has insisted that he will be visiting India as soon as possible.
“I really love the Indian life. I've been focusing on my career and goals, but I want to visit India again as soon as I have the opportunity”, Singh concluded.
The promising youngster had been staging consistent showings at Ullevaal Stadion Oslo for the past couple of seasons. Reports indicate that several European clubs were interested in signing the midfield ace this summer. However,
he opted to join Feyenoord before the start of the 2012/13 season.
Singh, who has put pen to a contract at De Kuip Stadion that runs until the summer of 2014, would be keen to impress while wearing the Rotterdammers colours during his stay at De Kuip Stadion before making his dream move to one
of the elite European clubs.
