India looking for a better show against the Proteas
India continued its terrible show in the seaming conditions of South Africa and showed why they have a terrible record playing abroad. The Proteas defeated the visitors by a big margin of 135 runs and will be looking forward to carry on their winning form
in the second ODI at Johannesburg.
The Indian captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 blamed the bowlers for the loss at the post-match ceremony but the fact was that the batsmen were below par as well along with the bowlers.
Dhoni said that he was expecting the fast bowlers to trouble the home team’s batsmen but it wasn’t the case. The best, out of the three fast bowlers playing for India, was yet again Zaheer Khan and the team will be expecting a similar show from him in the
next match.
The disappointment for India was the left-arm medium pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Praveen-Kumar-c82600 injured.
The Indian captain stated, “The most important thing is, these are three or four fast bowlers that we have got. So whatever the conditions may be, we have to back them to do well. So we don't have too many options right now. We don't see too many options
when it comes to fast-bowling department.”
India will also be hoping for an improved show from their leading off-spinner Harbhajan Singh. Part-time spinner Rohit Sharma was better than Singh in the first match with a good economy-rate and two wickets.
In the batting department, India need to come-up with better performances against the pace of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn. Their batting is considered to be one of the best in the game, but they haven’t proved that until now playing abroad.
The batsmen have piled plenty of runs in their batting friendly home conditions and almost looked invincible, however, as soon as they are exposed to some bounce and pace, the team looks good only on paper.
The home team will be pleased with the way they have started the ODI series. After winning the first Test match, the Proteas haven’t been able to win any match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
The only disappointment for South Africa will be Johan Both, who failed to trouble the Indians in the first match. However, the South African team does have some other spin options with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Faf-du-Plessis-c1427.
The team played four fast bowlers in the first match and all proved to be lethal for India. South Africa will be hoping that their pace attack can conquer the Indians yet again in tomorrow’s match.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 will also be expecting some runs from the top-order batsmen as Captain Graeme Smith and Colin Ingram were not able to score runs at Durban.
The second match will be significant for India in terms of getting back into the series. If they lose the match, the task will only get harder for the troubled Indian team.
