http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on top on day two of Durban Test 2nd Day Tea Update
The Indian team has made a resounding comeback despite being rolled over for a mediocre total on day two of the second test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 being played at the Kingsmead ground in Durban.
Resuming their first innings at the overnight score of 188/6 the tourists were sent packing for an additional 17 runs with Dale Steyn the South African pace spearhead chipping in with 6 wickets.
Indians were disappointing with the bat after being asked to take first use of the Kingsmead strip that was set to support the seam bowlers with the even covering of grass and the traditional humid conditions at the venue which make the ball jag around.
Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Mahindra Singh Dhoni and Shiv Sreesanth were the ones dismissed on day two, as the Indians surrendered meekly.
The Indian total of 205 looked inadequate on paper yet the South Africans were in for a rude shock as the tourists came out all guns blazing and made the most of the seam and swing available on the track.
Zaheer Khan, the left arm pacer who made a comeback after missing the first test due to a hamstring injury, was the real difference as he brought his experience to good use to send the two home openers Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen packing with well pitched
deliveries.
While Smith got a beauty that left him really late, Petersen played a ball onto his stumps as he attempted a flick towards the square-leg region.
First test double centurion Jacques Kallis was run out unluckily as he backed to far at the non-striker end while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887 the other centurion at Centurion was caught behind for a duck.
The slide continued after the lunch break with the prolific Hashim Amla falling after scoring 33 runs off 46 balls, the bearded batsman was in prime form striking 5 fours before falling lbw to Harbhajan Singh.
Ashwell Prince was the 6th wicket to fall as he was bowled by Zaheer Khan for a mere 13 runs, the next to go was fast bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahul-c83321 Dravid in the slips off a jubilant Harbhajan, the turbonator then accounted
for Paul Harris in the same over with Cheteshwar Pujara taking the second blinder of the over at short-leg.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ishant-Sharma-c64566 while the last man to be dismissed was Lonwabo Tsotsobe who went with out scoring.
The South Africans were bowled out for 131 runs handing a 74 run lead to the overjoyed Indians.
