India ready to handle pressure of hosting the World Cup: Mahendra Singh Dhoni
India’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 has reiterated that his team and country are all set to handle the pressure of being World Cup hosts when the tournament begins later this month. This year, the ICC Cricket World Cup is being
jointly hosted by India, Bangladesh and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
The Indian skipper expressed confidence in his team and believes that the side is good enough to challenge every other team that will be playing in the upcoming World Cup, which is almost 15 days away.
“Most of the places we go to, there is plenty of pressure on us and what we have done in the past two or three years is we have changed the meaning of pressure and responsibility,” said Dhoni, talking to the press.
Dhoni was adamant that India would not be considered as underdogs in this year’s World Cup because they have been on a winning roll for almost a year, during which they defeated almost every team they went up against.
“For a change, we won't be considered as underdogs," he said.
Many in India believe that Dhoni is the one who can lead team India to their second World Cup victory. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kapil-Dev-c70234.
Dhoni insisted that his side has had enough victories under its belt to gain the confidence which is required to take on the world. According to the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, the team is in good form and each of its members
wants to give his best performance in front of the home crowd.
"It is very important to play every game in the right frame of mind and that is what we are focusing on. I never predict when it comes to cricket. We will just try and give it our best shot,” Dhoni reiterated.
Dhoni expressed his satisfaction over the team selection, insisting that the players who have been selected for the mega event are India’s best at this point in time.
India has the potential to get their hands on the World Cup and looking at their recent record, one can safely say that team India isn’t just hype. Although they failed to defeat South Africa in their recent ODI series, there is
definitely more to them than meets the eye.
